activities are sure to make your holiday memorable.
Water
Sports
Woodland
Echoes sits on the shores of the Magnetawan
River between Ahmic Lake and Lake
Cecebe. Over 40 miles of interconnected waterway are waiting
to be explored. Consider renting a motor boat or
using one of our free canoes to begin your adventure.
Our sandy beach is perfect for the little ones. The
bigger ones will have fun on the water slide and
water trampoline.
We have a paddle boat and kayaks
available for the free use by our guests.
Fishing
You
don't need to be a professional angler to enjoy throwing a line in the
water. You may even bring home dinner! Discover some of the local secrets
on our fishing
page.
During July and August we have an out door "cook out" fish
fry using fish our guests don't need. Plan to visit the week of July
6-13, 2013"Family
Fishing Week" .
We have a special package and you do NOT require a fishing
licence.
Trails
and
Wildlife
Pack your walking shoes and binoculars. Woodland
Echoes is a natural wonderland. Trails
meander through beautifully landscaped gardens, wild meadows and lively
woodlands. The area is alive with over 35 species of birds
frequenting our many feeders. White-tailed deer are
commonly seen in the meadow and our friendly chipmunks are always
looking for a handout. In the Spring and early Summer, a chorus of
frogs rises from the nearby wetlands, presenting nature's concert
at end of the day.
Cyclists take note - - An intricate network of country
back roads inspires exploration by avid cyclists. The Trans
Canada Trail connects through Magnetawan along the Old Nipissing
Road. Interpretive signage along the route tells the tale of the
early days of this colonization road.
A
number of other nature trails in the area offer an even greater expanse
of exploration. We have a guide book in the office with hundreds of
trail maps. When you are here be sure to ask about it.
Fun
and Games
What cottage holiday is complete without a good old fashion game
of Yatzee? Remember Rumoli? We have a few other forgotten memories
in our games room. The common space is great for
rainy afternoons, equipped with tons of board games, puzzles, a pool
table and pin ball machine. It also has a computer with high
speed internet connection, if you REALLY need to connect.
Or, take the games out side...
Beach volleyball, tetherball, geocaching
(that's treasure hunting on our trails with a GPS), a basketball net,
horseshoe pit, children's playground, table tennis, mini putt and
a giant outdoor chess board can fill everyone's days with endless
activity.
